Profeco is part of the administrative branch of the federal government of Mexico. Seeks to strengthen the citizen's power and enforces the law to achieve equity on consumption relations.
This area is divided into:
1.- Preventive
A) Analysis of contracting procedures with clients according to the Federal Law of Protection to the Consumer. Analyzing that is complied with the arranged thing in the Law and in the Official Norms.
B) Attention for verification visits.
C) Comparative Publicity.
2.- Corrective
A) Conciliatory, before start of the complaint (line 01-800).
B) Conciliatory, initiated the procedure and under the guideline of it established by the client.
C) Attention of procedures to its conclusion before the PROFECO.

B) Procedures of comparative publicity and unfair competition.
C) Visits of verification to the compliance of Mexican Official Norms and commercial information.
